So, You Ask, “What Is ChiChi Chic?”

October 21, 2021

Casual comfortable. That’s my favorite style. Since I’m a grandmother, you might call it Chi Chi chic. Or, Mimi chic, or Granny chic–whatever your littles call you.

I’m not saying I never wear things that aren’t stretchy, but I sure do prefer a forgiving fabric. Be honest, don’t you too?

Here are some simple Chi Chi chic outfits that I’m loving this fall.

I’ve been finding the best deals at H&M this year! This dress, which is just too short for me to actually wear as a dress, is perfect as a top. And it was on clearance, so it was ridiculously inexpensive. Love me a bargain! Here’s a similar style from H&M–and it’s on sale, too!

These Tribal jeans, which I found in a cute boutique near me, are pull-ons and have the perfect amount of spandex in the denim. I wear them constantly!

If I’m not wearing my comfy jeans, I’m probably wearing these joggers by Calia, Carrie Underwood’s clothing line. Lands-a-livin’ they’re the best! (What? You’ve never heard that saying?)

My leopard tee was a find (10 bucks, people!) at Old Navy, where I stock up on tees almost every year. They’re inexpensive, but hold up. AND, they come in tall and petite. How handy is that?

My feet demand comfort, too. I told you about these booties in my last blog. And, I carried on about these tennies in an earlier post. Both pairs make my feet happy.

Two more SUPER COMFY outfits!

I found this airy plaid duster at Anthropologie. It’s so versatile–I can wear it buttoned up or unbuttoned as a duster. I can also tie the front two panels for a high-low look. It looks great with off-white and olive green pants/leggings/jeans as well. Here’s one from Anthropologie in an even more versatile denim.

The jeans I’m wearing here are really jeggings. They’re like wearing pajamas. I found them in one of my favorite Birmingham boutiques, The Pink Tulip.

The other outfit is a T.J. Maxx/H&M combo. Those are the concealed zipper leggings I told you about in the last post. The 100-percent cotton, white button-down is from H&M, too. It has a bit more “heft” than my other white button-downs. I really like the material.

The vest is from T.J. Maxx. In an earlier post, I mentioned how sweater vests are a big trend this fall. I like them because I feel like my outfit looks more finished when I wear them.

So, there you go…a few simple, comfortable (have I mentioned they’re comfortable??), Chi Chi chic outfits for fall.

Which one is your favorite?
