My Summer Faves Help Squeeze A Little More Sunshine Out Of The Season

September 6, 2021

I’ve always considered Labor Day the farewell to summer. But Summer 2021 doesn’t officially end until Wednesday, September 22.

So, to help you squeeze every drop of sunshine out of these “last days,” I’ve come up with The Greatest Hits of Summer 2021. These are my favorite finds of the season.

My Go Everywhere Bag

I was so excited to find this round woven purse on sale recently at H&M. I like to economize on my trendy purchases. That way I don’t feel bad only using it a year or two.

I have a feeling these straw purses are going to stick around for a while, though. So, so cute!

Here’s a link to a similar purse available at Target. And, another, at Wal Mart.

Cheery Visitors

These faux flowers cheered my house up the minute they came through the door. I love them. They look so real and fresh.

I bought them at House 2 Home, a darling independent gift and clothing shop in town. The owner will even do the arrangement for you for a small fee.

And here are some branches I bought there, too. I think they’re cherry blossoms and some kind of…well, I’m not sure. Eucalyptus?

I Took A Risk That Paid Off

The Rip Skirt is a major find! They’re a company based in Hawaii, and they showed up on my Instagram feed. I researched them before I bought, because I’ve been burned on some of those purchases from companies advertising on Instagram or Facebook.

One time I ordered a sweater that wouldn’t have even fit my granddaughter it was so small!

Did you know you can immediately see some information about these companies by clicking on the three little dots in the top right corner and then choosing “About this Company?”

But, back to the skirt…I took it on our trip to the beach and it was perfect!

The material is good quality, and you can wear it as a cover-up on the beach or with a tee-shirt for knocking around. Velcro fasteners make it especially forgiving, too

The pattern I got is Wildflower Watercolor.

A Life-Changing Kitchen Gadget...I'm Not Even Kidding!

Y’all. I’ve hit the Mother Load with this new gadget Mom gave me! It’s a Cling Wrap Dispenser and it’s a GAME CHANGER.

I have a love-hate, minus the love, relationship with plastic wrap. I can never get it to cooperate with those nasty little “teeth” you’re supposed to tear it on. I know…first world problems.

And, I must say, I was skeptical about this festively-decorated box. But it works. Every time. Boom–mic drop.

You’re going to want one…especially if you made one of the delicious banana pudding recipes I posted on my blog a couple of weeks ago.

And I Fell In Love

…with this dress! I bought it to wear to a wedding. Our oldest son was in the wedding of a dear, longtime friend. It was a great evening. This is a rare (only?) photo of us with just Ben. Doesn’t he look like his dad?

Anyway…I love everything about this dress—for one thing it’s like wearing a nightgown. The luscious material. The soft geometric print. The tiers. You can’t tell in this picture, but it is a midi with short sleeves and is very flattering.

And I found the perfect necklace to go with it…ON SALE for practically nothing.

So, there you are…I found some great things this summer! Look for an upcoming post on my anticipated fall favorites. And, be prepared, fall is my favorite season! I love (almost) everything about it.
