Are you in search of inspiration to set a beautiful fall table, but you don’t have ALL the stuff that those social media mavens have? Me too!
And another thing…I’ve finally come to terms with my own style. It’s simple. I don’t like a lot of things cluttering my space. Plus, I don’t like to dust. The philosophy of keeping things simple but beautiful sings to me. Minimum effort with maximum results.
I hope you find a touch of inspiration for your fall table setting.
Casual, Comfortable Dining Table
Start with what you have. I have an abundance of white china, in a variety of patterns. I used to always check the dishes at TJ Maxx when I was collecting them. My favorite is Nantucket Basket by Wedgwood. You can find a 16-piece set here. Sorry to say, I’ve never found it at TJ or Tuesday Morning. But, I’ll keep looking!
Hobby Lobby is a goldmine for finding seasonal table goods. It’s where I got the chargers. They have all sorts of styles in all colors, and they are so reasonable (on sale) that you won’t feel bad about getting more than one color. I have green and black. The green ones work with my (fancy-pants) china and any spring table setting I can conjure up.
This year HL doesn’t have these pumpkin metal place card holders, at least not in orange. But if I didn’t already have them, I would get these whitewashed pumpkin place card holders! And if I get the urge, I can always paint mine! They don’t have these leaf napkins anymore either, but I think these ivory and gold leaf cloth napkins are beautiful. Here’s a link to the wooden napkin rings, also from Hobby Lobby. I found the placemats at Walmart a few years ago. But here are some similar. I can’t remember the name of the silverware and wish I could because I’m running short on forks! The glassware is all cobbled together from TJ. but here’s a link to some really fun Mexican handblown glasses.
For the overflow crowd
I like to set the island eating area, too. I used the same woven mats and white china to pull both the looks together. But here’s where my black chargers ended up
So, there you go…simple, right? I’m a big proponent of using what you have and mixing those elements up. But, before you go, did you spot the “blooper” in one of the pictures?
