Reimagined. Repurposed. Renewed…All favorite concepts of my friend Ginny. Most people look at a rug and see a rug. Ginny sees possibilities.
Her imagination has been in full throttle for years. (She wrote a children’s book when she was a preschool teacher! Grab your copy here.) But since she opened her eclectic shop, Frenchtown Station, in 2017, she can’t seem to control it. Ideas fly in faster than a polished auctioneer can spit out his words.
At the Top of Ginny’s List
Those rugs I mentioned? If they aren’t serving as a runner for a bride (no kidding) they might be cut apart to be made into chunky pillows.
These pillows are among Ginny’s favorite merchandise at their shop that specializes in antique, vintage, home, and garden items. Make that their first shop…
Slim’s Frenchtown Mercantile is right next door and is chockful of everything from men, women, and children’s clothing to a Kentucky line of bourbon-based products.
Unique children’s books and stuffed animals make it hard for this grandmother (that would be me) to keep her credit card holstered.
Here are a few more of Ginny’s favorite things…
Nineteenth century silver cruets (originally used for oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and sugar) repurposed as vases for flowers or herbs.
Ginny can see using this antique workbench as a kitchen island, buffet, or bar. Reimagined gorgeousness for any home!
Natural plants are pressed, dried, and mounted on original 19th century French letters. The frames are custom constructed.
Her favorites at Slim's...
Rifle Paper Company products are a crowd-pleaser at Slim’s. These happy prints will brighten anyone’s day.
Ginny says they were thrilled to be selected as a retailer of Pappy products. The company is based in Louisville.
Clark and June Candles are small-batch, 100 percent soy, hand-poured in Nashville. I loooove the Paducah scent!
