Well, I just couldn’t wait to post the pictures from the event we had this week at Frenchtown Station & Slim’s Frenchtown Mercantile, so you’re getting a bonus newsletter. We had the best time–and the weather even cooperated!
Ginny, Chris, and Will Hutson were the most gracious hosts, and provided some of Minerva’s favorite treats for everyone who attended. Who could say no to pimiento cheese sandwiches? They were cut on the diagonal, of course, and came from the deli of Midtown Market, which was originally Myrick’s, the grocery store Minerva goes to in the book. And, Munal’s donuts!! Oh, my gosh, did you hear that Munal’s named a donut after Minerva?! So fun! Pickle spears and Oreos rounded out the fare–both of which Minerva loved.
The fabulously talented Kim Patterson read passages from Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace dressed as Minerva. She did such a great job! Suzanne Farmer interviewed me about the book and we had several questions from the audience.
It was an all-round great evening. But if you missed it, here are a few pictures to give you a flavor…
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you…to the Hutsons, Kim, Toni (for taking pictures!), FBC-Paducah (for lending me the chairs and sound equipment), Munal’s, Midtown Market, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON who came!
Paducah’s the best!
P.S. If you still need a copy of the book here are a couple of links:
